Baldwin In Tears As His Prop Gun Kills Colleague

This may very well have been a horrific accident. More on that in a moment. Baldwin has long acted as if he had mental problems but they decidedly turned for the worse when he shot & killed a colleague on a Western set with a prop gun. First news reports said he was “in tears” and latest say he was "told the gun was 'cold'" aka unloaded. Of course. But, wasn’t it clear he needed help long ago? Who points ANY weapon at anyone at any time & pulls the trigger? The "mystery", we're told is still unsolved 24 hours later.

You’ll recall how the MSM & other rags have documented Baldwin’s many run-ins with others, often over petty perceived slights. Not that any were in play on this latest. But, then again, our “celebrity culture” not only largely ignored the outbursts but seemed to encourage them by putting him on an ever-higher pedestal until Mount Olympus was in full view. The mocking SNL appearances kept coming as did the chance to star in “Rust”, a Western being shot (no pun intended) in New Mexico. As it turned out, Baldwin, 63, had fired “what was described as a ‘prop firearm’ at the Bonanza Creek Ranch, fatally wounding cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, 42, and wounding director Joel Souza, 48,” the Santa Fe New Mexican reported. The set's "armour" or supposed gun checker supposedly told Baldwin the gun was, in so many words, "safe."

No criminal charges have been issued … yet ... as the police investigation continues. But, the questions to be asked include the chain of possession in checking out the weapon, the type of ammo loaded into the firearm on this movie set, no less, knowing that even blank rounds have been known to harm, even kill, at close range? Also, unless the prop mysteriously mis-fired on its own, it's unfathomable that Baldwin would point it for any reason at a non-actor, even one near a "camera" filming as one story suggested. Firearm 101 says never preload & never point, always keep the finger off the trigger until ready to fire. Yet, another tough Q: Aren’t horrific accidents to be expected from the hands of a troubled celebrity as a fawning fan base cheers on his or her bizarre behavior?
