Biden Vaccine Mandate Not LeBron’s Or Ted’s Job?

Might one also “stand” with Sen Ted Cruz who says he “stands” with NBA Great LeBron James who apparently stands with several NBA Covid vaccine no shows? “That’s not my job,” LeBron told a reporter when asked if he should tell the balking players to get the vaccine. Maybe it’s not Fightin’ Joe Biden’s job either, that is, if he believed any government mandate could be reasonably challenged on religious, privacy or medical science grounds.
Still, y’all, I also stand with those urging y’all to get vaccinated. I did. Two Pfizer Covid shots & now the booster. And, to be prophylactically protected as well as a licensed Amsterdam street walker, I went ahead and told the doc to also give me the seasonal influenza shot. Sure, an hour after my visit to the med center, my left arm felt like Mike Tyson had landed a round house & my right arm felt like Joe Louis had come back from the dead to do the same to it. BUT, 24 hours later I was not only feeling fine, but confident that I’ll not be joining Mr. Louis in Heaven anytime soon. Sure, I now have a zillion virus things circulating through my veins, but my anti-bodies were giving ‘em the ‘ol salt ‘n pepper knock out punch so they’re kissing the canvas instead of me.
We can all understand the president’s frustration in fighting any virus let alone Covid. The pandemic is going on almost two years now & Joe’s assurance he’d lick it (if not his favorite chocolate chip ice cream) by summer was a canard from the get go since viruses like this almost always keep mutating. Hey, it’s Fall, isn’t it? You know a good slogan for Joe to get folks to get vaccinated instead of villified: “If you can’t lick ‘em, join ‘em.”
