Chicago’s Suitcase Killer Freed In Time 4 Halloween

Chicago Tribune reports the city's home grown “Suitcase Killer” is being released early from a Bali prison & deported to the US after serving a chunk of her 10-yr sentence thanks to her “religious” fervor as well as “fashion & dance activities”. In 2015 socialite Heather Mack was convicted by an Indonesian court for helping a boyfriend stuff the remains of her mom in a suitcase. Welcome back to Sweet Home Chicago?

Fox News noted how the case “captured global attention due to its grisly nature.” The down & dirty of the defense at the time of trial was that Tommy Schaefer had killed Sheila von Wiese-Mack “in self defense in the St. Regis Hotel in Bali after she attacked him in anger because she objected” to his romance with 19-yr-old daughter Heather. The prosecution’s devil’s advocate position was that mom’s “body was found at the hotel with bruises on her arms and broken fingers” while video “footage showed Schaefer and Heather speaking to a taxi driver after dropping the bloodied suitcase.”

Now, picture the local cartoonist portraying Chicago’s soft on crime/pro-leniency progressive Mayor Lightfoot & State’s Attorney Kim Foxx meeting Heather at O’Hare International Airport with a bouquet of flowers before heading off together to celebrate the Halloween holiday? Naw. Too gruesome even for Chicago Murder, Inc.
