Dentists Crown Seniors In Dems’ Medicare Gambit?

Does dentists fighting Medicare coverage for seniors expose their greed & foolishness of Dem pandering in its proposed $3.5T spend? Not that dentists don’t need to eat, too. Or “progressive” subsidies don’t have a limit somewhere in their perverse budget. But, how, exactly, is an uninsured senior living off of Social Security supposed to deal with today’s soaring dental costs?

Predictably, The WSJ worried that “ADA opposition could be a factor as Democrats look to trim” their huge budget as this week’s vote looms. No doubt the socialist agenda reflected in that budget is giving rise to all sorts of “me too” calls for more taxpayer money to be doled out for this or that group. Yet, in looking only at the Swamp’s usual political math, the editors might also be concerned about why their dental industry readership has been pushing up bills to their traditional sugar daddies, the elderly, for dentures, caps & even pricier “transplants.” Has anyone in DC thought it strange how expensive it now is for a single “crown” … up to $3,500? Or, up to $60K for a set of transplants instead of dentures that even George Washington could not stand 250 yrs ago? The ADA insists its members are just “covering costs,” but they’re telling us from their cottages in the Caribbean.

Naturally, the dentists are worried about Medicare suppressing those inflating charges as it does to the docs treating seniors for major procedures. As the WSJ noted, their allied insurance companies also stand to lose business, too. But, once the Dems opened up the budget spigot for one group isn’t it reasonable to ask “why not?” or, better, “why the hell hasn’t anyone noticed the long-existing shell game that is sweet for the dentists, sour grapes for the elderly poor?”
