As if the Gabby Petito murder is not heartbreak enough for her parents they now have to suffer Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman’s appeal to God for the suspected killer-in-hiding’s safe return home.
Not that Chapman, a television mainstay now, isn’t a good bounty hunter who happens to look like a worn out WrestleMania poster huckster. But, one’s cynicism rises when he goes on Fox to say, “I’d like all the Christians out there to start praying … Please pray that God will lead ME through the wilderness right up to it & I’ll be able to bring him in alive.” The “him,” of course, is 22-year-old Gabby’s ex-finance, Brian Laundrie, with whom she was on a national monuments road tour until her body was found in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. Laundrie is only wanted right now on credit card fraud allegations.
Still, Chapman says, never mind the hundreds of authorities on the case, he alone has received 1K tips and “we’re going through all those leads … it’s incredible pictures of him here.” Looking into his special crystal ball as well as those pics, Chapman also told Fox the suspected Laundrie is an “outdoorsman” likely hiding out “where he’s [been] comfortable.” Natch. Something about the fugitive having spent a lot of time along the Appalachian Trail in recent years. Yo, Duane. Maybe you & the cops might look for Laundrie in one of the Whiskey Trail’s many comfortable distilleries?
