Maher Again Whips Whining Whoopi On Multi-Anthems

“Real Time” host Bill Maher again whipped Whoopi Goldberg in logic as he doubled down on opinion that “A Black national anthem” aka the “separate but equal” canard is “out of step” by 67 years.

Whoopi countered on her own “The View”: “I think because we have gone backwards a good 10-15 years, we’re having to re-educate people.” As in YOU PEOPLE? As in “MAHER”? Retorteth Maher: “When you start talking about re-education … just ask Chairman Mao. Maybe we can set up some sort of camps.” While no fan of Key’s National Anthem, Maher insisted on his “crazy idea” that “segregating by race” is inherently bad; and since the subject is a “national” anthem it stands to reason there must be ONE only. Otherwise, Maher suggested, get ready for 2, 3 or more anthems. “Why not a women’s anthem? A Latino anthem? A gay, trans, Indigenous Peoples, Asian & Pacific Islander anthem?” Well, Bill, why not a Catholic, Jewish, Mormon or Muslim Anthem?

Maher saved his best for last. In 1954 the Supreme Court handed down their landmark Brown v Bd of Education ruling which said ‘separate but equal’ isn’t what we do here. We decided we’re going to try to make this work together.” Meanwhile, the HBO pundit noted, a survey of 173 colleges revealed over 40% of them now actually offer segregated student housing. “Well, congratulations, liberal parents. [Whoopi!] You just paid 100 grand for your kid to move to Biloxi.”
