One Crime Victim’s 911 in Austin Is Another Man’s 311

Was it bound to happen in light of crazed progressives’ movement to defund police everywhere? Fox News reports “Austin Tex’s police to stop responding to nonemergencies.”

Starting Friday, we’re told, Austin residents are being “asked to use 311 when reporting crimes that are either no longer in process, when the suspect is no longer on the scene, or when there is no immediate threat to life or property.” Too bad Bernie Sanders & AOC aren’t on each scene to advise a caller when their mugging is over; the mugger is really gone, not just raiding the homeowner’s frig; or, how long it’s going to take for the victim to bleed out.

Reality has been that defunded police across the nation have been forced to “profile” reported crimes & put their limited resources where they think it’ll do the most good. Ridiculous, but true, at least, in Austin, where an emergency is now often a state of mind.
