Justice & democracy prevailed when a jury of 12 said Kyle Rittenhouse acted in self-defense while being attacked by rioters last August in Kenosha. Family spokesman David Hannock reversed the “surreal” hatred that had surrounded the 18-yr-old by reminding all of the remarkable “courage” he had to have had to stand up to even a POTUS’s foolish labeling of him without knowing the facts finally revealed at trial.
At first, Kyle was choked with emotion as he hugged his defense attorney. He had faced 5 murder counts & up to 60 years in jail. So, for the lifeguard vindicated on ALL criminal charges, it’s back to his Antioch, Illinois home 17 miles away with mom & family and a chance to resume his dream of going to college & pursuing in some medical career. The biggest losers, of course, are prosecutors who ignored the facts they KNEW as well as the many politicians and those in the biased MSM who trashed the young man relentlessly for the past year.
But, other than those few misguided souls, we’re all winners. As GW Law Prof. Jonathan Turley reminded, our jury system still stands “between the accused and the mob” and thank God it does.
